1 Peter: We are Refugees is unavailable, but you can change that!

Peter shows us that we are refugees. His letter, written to persecuted Christians, is one of hope. Although we may face trials and experience pain and confusion in our life journeys, our inheritance is “kept in heaven.” Like early Christians, we are en route to a far greater kingdom. And we are not alone in our journey—Jesus shows us the way. He bears our burdens and teaches us how to live.

Pray that even your protests may also honor Jesus. Read 1 Peter 1:1–4:6. Reflect on 1 Peter 2:13–17. After reminding us that we are spiritual refugees on this earth Peter tells us how to live. (Peter’s audience was Jewish Christians, literally foreigners dispersed from their homes.) Just before 1 Peter 3:13–17, Peter instructs his audience to maintain good conduct before non-Jewish people.
